Captain Cedar Says "I Do" in Newport!

Last weekend, some of the 12 Meter Charters' team celebrated in style at the wedding of one of their own.  Captain Cedar married long time partner and Newport Naked co-founder Daniel Hwang.  It was perfect weather for a beach side ceremony  in Newport.  The ceremony could not have been more beautiful and neither could the bride!  Congratulations Cedar and Dan!

Annual Sailing Day Trip to Stonington, Connecticut

Last week our 12 Meter yachts, Columbia and Heritage, took their annual day trip to Stonington, Connecticut to meet a corporate charter. Our 12 Meter Charters' team left a chilly Newport at sunrise and headed south west. Stonington is just 44 miles from Newport by car but everything takes longer by boat! It took our team 4.5 hours to get to the dock in Stonington. After a quick nap and lunch they were ready for their afternoon of 12 Meter sailing.

For the third year in a row, our guests arrived by coach from the beautiful Ocean House in Watch Hill. After a quick introduction they set off for their afternoon of 12 Meter sailing. Sunny and windy, it was a perfect day! After a wonderful afternoon of sailing in Connecticut, our team headed back to Newport and arrived back to their moorings just after sunset. What a day!

12 Meter Charters' Team Scuttlebutt

The 12 Meter Charters' Team had an exciting winter filled with snow, sunshine, sailing, and surprises!

SNOW!
When Captain Kevin wasn't in the boatyard he was enjoying the New England winter! Here's some shots of him  and Columbia race crew member, Steve, snowmobiling up near the Canadian boarder.  They rode 180 miles that day.  Captain Kevin obviously feels the need for speed both on and off the water!

SUNSHINE!
In January, Columbia's Mate Laura joined her family and friends for some fun in the sun in the Virgin Islands.  Of course, they chartered a sailboat and sailed the British and US Islands.

SAILING!
Heritage's Mate Gus enjoyed a winter full of sailing.  Gus spent the off season working in St. Maarten aboard 12 Meters!

SURPRISES!

Captain Cedar's off season was full of surprises!  Just before Christmas Cedar's dog Twiggy gave birth to six puppies!  Then, just before the New Year, Cedar and long time boyfriend, Dan, got engaged!  SURPRISE!  We can't wait to celebrate with them.

Catch up with our crew this summer and hear all about their adventures. With over 100 years of combined chartering experience our team is eager to serve our guests. Stay tuned for the introduction of our new crew members - we are excited to welcome them to our fabulous team. Come aboard and let us serve you!

Where in the World is Crew Member Gus? Answer Revealed!

A question always on the mind of a 12 Meter Charters' sailor is, "What do I do in the off season?"  Some head North and some follow the sailing weather South.  This winter Heritage crew member Gus chose the latter and joined the team of 12 Metre Challenge in Saint Maarten.  Gus refined and tuned his 12 Meter sailing skills while enjoying the Caribbean scenery.

Come aboard Heritage this summer and hear all about Gus' Caribbean sailing adventures!
