Why Newport is the Perfect Bachelorette Destination! Weekend Itinerary #2

BEACHES. NIGHTLIFE. SAILING. SHOPPING. RESTAURANTS. WINE VINEYARDS.

For these reasons and more, Newport, Rhode Island is the perfect Bachelor and Bachelorette party destination. Throughout the summer the 12 Meter Charters' team will be using our local knowledge to dream up and share with you sample itineraries for a Newport Bachelorette Weekend.  These are just ideas to get your creative juices flowing. Of course, in Newport, fun Bachelorette party ideas are endless...

Newport Bachelorette Weekend #2
All About the Ocean!

The bridal party will arrive in Newport on Friday night, and and stay at one of the many accommodations near Easton's Beach in Newport.  All are within walking distance of the beach and some have fabulous ocean views!

On Saturday morning, enjoy brunch the Newport way - by sailing on a yacht.  Come sailing with 12 Meter Charters for a 2 hour Morning Mimosa Cruise.  Bring your own brunch or let us arrange it.  Our captain and crew stand ready to serve your guests and celebrate the bride!

After sailing in Newport with 12 Meter Charters, step back in time to the Gilded Age and enjoy the beach like a Vanderbilt.  "Rejects beach," located at the end of Bellevue Avenue, is a local's favorite and is right next to Newport's fancy schmancy private beach, Bailey's Beach.

After you have caught some rays, head around Ocean Drive to the Castle Hill Inn.  Enjoy dinner, a cocktail and the sunset from their lawn...one of the best views (on land) in Newport!

Sunday morning means surfs up fun for everyone!  After breakfast overlooking Easton's Beach(First Beach as the locals call it), head to Sachuest Beach(Second Beach) for surfing fun.  Rhody Surf offers lessons and the bride will be hanging ten in no time!

With sun kissed skin and sand in your toes, the bridal party will leave Newport having celebrated on, in and by the ocean.  Another fantastic Newport Bachelorette Weekend!
If your wondering where to stay, eat, beach or go out, contact 12 Meter Charters.  In addition to planning your sailing event, we stand ready to provide all the information you’ll need to make your Bachelorette Weekend in Newport one to remember!

Newport Says Goodbye to Team Alvimedica!

Last week, Team Alvimedica set sail from Newport on their last transatlantic sail before the next Volvo Ocean Race.  Team Alvimedica is the hometown team in the around the world sailing race which starts in October.  The team's captain, Charlie Enright, is from Bristol, RI and two other team members are from Newport, Nick Dana and on-board reporter, Amory Ross.

Before departing on July 9, the team had been in Newport for about a month training, resting and enjoying the hometown fans.  To make their farewell more interested, Team Abu Dhabi, another Volvo Ocean 65 training for the race, and Team Alvimedica did a promotional start in Newport before sailing out to sea.  While the sail across the Atlantic is just a training run, both teams are undoubtedly sailing to be the first to the dock in England.

Check out these amazing shots from Team Alvimedica's departure from Newport.  We are getting very excited for Volvo Ocean racing to come to Newport next May, are you?
