Harrison + Pike Sails aboard Heritage in Newport, RI!

Last weekend, 12 Meter Charters had the pleasure of welcoming aboard the founders of Harrison + Pike aboard Heritage!  Harrison + Pike, SEA | SAIL | SPIRIT, creates jewelry that combines two styles that we love - Newport style and nautical style.  Their locally handmade shackle bracelets look great on any sailor but especially on our model captain Gus!  Check out pics from their fabulous Sunday afternoon of sailing.  Thanks for coming aboard with 12 Meter Charters, we hope to see you sailing in Newport again soon!

Heritage Races in Newport's Leukemia Cup!

Today, our 1970 America's Cup contender, Heritage, will be racing in the  New York Yacht Club's Leukemia Cup.  Here are some pictures of 12 Meter US 23 practicing in Narragansett Bay yesterday.  Sail fast Team Heritage!

Bowen's Wharf Open House

Along side our neighbors, 12 Meter Charters was pleased to participate in an open house of Bowen's Wharf last week. It was a beautiful evening to show off all that the "anchor of Newport" has to offer. Shopping, tasty treats, spectacular views and, of course, sailing - Bowen's Wharf is home to the best of Newport.  Thank you to all that joined us, we hope to see you again soon on the wharf!

Newport Bachelorette Weekend # 1 

Sip and Sailing Fun!

Drive to Newport bright and early on a Saturday morning.  Check-in to an affordable (they do exist and 12 Meter Charters will help you find one!) hotel/motel option on the outskirts of Newport.  

Next, your driver(12 Meter Charters can help you arrange your transportation for the day) will pick you up at your hotel for a day vineyard tours and wine tasting! First stop is Sakonnet Vineyards, a great winery about twenty minutes from Newport in beautiful Little Compton.  Next second stop is Greenvale Vineyards, about fifteen minutes from downtown Newport.  Stop and have a picnic with wine and cheese on their beautiful lawn - some days there is even live Jazz music playing.  Last stop, is the Newport Vineyards and Winery, which has a wonderful, newly renovated, patio and a gorgeous view. 

These are just three vineyards out of the many in RI surrounding Newport. These tours and tastings are a great way to explore Rhode Island and the vineyard staff will surely be excited celebrate the bride-to-be!

After freshening up at your accommodation, take a taxi or guest shuttle to downtown Newport.  Enjoy a late afternoon or sunset sail with 12 Meter Charters!  Join one of our Daily Harbor Tours or arrange a Private Charter.  Aboard our beautiful 65 foot sailing yachts you will see the sights of Newport from the water.  Sit back and enjoy the sights or participate in the sailing - the bride-to-be can even take a turn at the wheel(sailor's cap is optional).  Bring your own food, beer, wine and champagne (for the celebration) aboard.  Our captain and crew stand ready to serve you and help continue the celebration of the bachelorette!

Boatyard Update: Heritage Gets Launched for the Season!

Last week Heritage was launched for her 44th year of sailing!  After a winter full of sanding, painting and varnishing, US 23 went in the water at Bristol Marine.  She is looking stunning this season and the 12 Meter Charters' team can't wait to welcome you aboard!

Heritage is 63 feet long, can accommodate up to 18 guests and is ready for sailing in Newport, RI. Welcome Aboard Spring!

Today at 12:57pm we welcome aboard the spring season in Newport, Rhode Island!  One more sign that sailing season is just around the corner.  We will soon be seeing this view again in Newport Harbor!

Sail Away Heritage...

The sun has set on another wonderful season of sailing for Heritage!  Last week, after over 170 sails and welcoming aboard over 2000 guests, Heritage had her last sail of 2013.  Thank you again to all who joined us aboard US 23 this season.  And, of course, thank you to our fabulous crew, Captain Cedar, Mate Gus and Mate Eli, for another successful season aboard our bright hulled beauty.  Team Heritage rocks!  We look forward to having you aboard in 2014!

So what will Heritage be up to over the winter?  Stay tuned for some boatyard bites.
