Countdown to the America's Cup in Newport!




From the sign on Bannister's Wharf to the official merchandise shop that has opened on America's Cup Avenue...signs that the America's Cup World Series is coming to Newport are all over town!  We can hardly contain our excitement and are counting down the days until America's Cup Racing returns Newport!  Here's the countdown:

June 10th - Container ship with the America's Cup boats arrives from Venice, Italy.
June 11th to 22nd - America's Cup Village at Fort Adams State Park will be built.
June 23rd to 27th - America's Cup Village is open from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm daily at Fort Adams State Park.  
June 28th to July 1st - America's Cup Racing begins in Narragansett Bay.

One man's trash is another man's America's Cup treasure!

Check out this video from the the Providence Journal about a Rhode Island man who purchased a trophy for $19.99 from a thrift store.  He later found out the trophy is an America's Cup trophy replica and is worth over $30,000!  Now that is a winning trophy!
