Heritage Heads to Hibernate!

Last Saturday, the Heritage team made the long delivery north to her winter home in Marblehead, Massachusetts. It was an all male crew with Captain Jeff, Captain Duncan and Mate Gus (you always have to have an Indian to help the Chiefs on board!).

The Heritage team left Bannister's Wharf at 5:15am.  The weather was warm but dark, damp and foggy as they motored out of Newport Harbor.  The patchy fog continued until they got into Buzzards Bay.  Once through the Cape Cod Canal they were able to raise the main and motor-sailed across Cape Cod and Massachusetts Bays, heading toward increasingly clearing skies.  At 5:15pm, 12 hours after they left Newport they arrived in Marblehead Harbor under clear skies and a setting sun.   Check out this great pictures Captain Duncan took during their trip.

Thanks again for a great season Heritage!  Enjoy your winter vacation!
