Boatyard Update: Columbia Makes A Splash


Earlier this week our America's Cup winner, Columbia, was launched for another year of sailing in Newport, RI. Check out the shots below to see what 70 feet and 68,000 pounds looks like as it is lowered into the water. WOW! She is looking pretty good for 56 years old, don't you think?

Farewell Columbia!


Last week our America's Cup winner wrapped up another fabulous season of 12 Meter sailing in Newport!  It was sunny, warm and beautiful for US 16's last sails - weather that made even Captain Kevin smile!  Thank you to everyone who joined us aboard Columbia this season.  We look forward to welcoming you aboard in 2013!

Welcome Aboard October - Hungry Anyone?

Think October means all the outdoor fun has ended?  Not in Newport!  This weekend kicks off a month full of great waterfront events in the city-by-the-sea. From wschnitzel to lobster bisque, October weekends in Newport will offer guests fall foods and fun by the harbor!

Navigating the Newport International Boat Show



Welcome boating enthusiasts! The 2012 Newport International Boat Show opened this morning and will run through Sunday, September 16. Boat Show Week is an exciting and busy time in downtown Newport. Here's what you need to know to navigate the show!

1.  PLANNING YOUR DEPARTURE TIME - The Newport Boat Show is open 10am to 6pm on Tursday, September 13 to Saturday, September 15 and 10am to 5pm on Sunday, September 16.

2.  GETTING ON BOARD - Tickets are available online or by calling(401) 846-1600 x 3.  Thursday is VIP Day and tickets are $30.  Friday, Saturday and Sunday tickets are $18.

3.  CHARTING YOUR COURSE -  The show is spread through the waterfront of downtown Newport including the Newport Yachting Center, Bannister's Wharf and Bowen's Wharf.  For an interactive map visit the Newport Boat Show website.

Newport Boat Show Set Up Underway

Docks are moving, boats are arriving and tents are being set up.  That can only mean one thing in Newport, it is Boat Show time!  The 42nd Annual Newport International Boat Show will be held September 13th to 16th and the downtown is bustling with activity as everyone prepares for the show.  We can't wait to visit the show, which boat will you be buying?
